Traveling Veggies

Fridgeinventory.jpg

From this map we can see that most of the vegetables we are buying from Publix, Trader Joes, and even Whole Foods are coming from outside of Florida but inside of North America. Many of our vegetables are coming from Monrovia, California as a result of the fact that lots of us are shopping at Trader Joes, and all of their products and produce are made/grown and shipped from there. Although Florida farms grow a huge variety of fruits and vegetables, it seems that we are not stocking our fridges with very much local produce, likely because it is more expensive and time consuming, especially for students, to buy from farmers markets than from grocery stores.
